Insomnia after One Week with New Ayurvedic Solution and Weighted Blanket

It’s been a long week and I should have written this 3 days ago but I didn’t have the weighted blanket before more recently than that. So here is the review of both.

The truth over the past 2 nights is that the Ayurvedic Solution isn’t totally what’s working. The tincture sucks up too much Valerian root versus all the ingredients.

I’ve been taking 3 bottles of other ingredients separately and adding the 3000mg full spectrum CBD oil manually.

I chose to take Kava Kava, L-Theanine, Passionflower and the CBD/CBN combination.

It was giving me more sleep than I’ve gotten in a while and when I added the cooling weighted blanket (15lb), both of us slept better as well. Stacey gets more sleep than I do but here is more broken up. She wakes more often she tells me and that it might be the over the bed speakers that pay binaural beats and isochronic audio to enhance brain wave activation. They are Sonos Bluetooth speakers that I ran the power cables up the wall corners to obviously hide it since I couldn’t run it through the wall.

If you have Amazon Prime, make use of the binaural and isochronic music available there and make a playlist of those tracks. It’s included with your Prime subscription so why not use it.

Be Mindful, Meditate, practice good nutrition and hygiene, set a wake up and sleep time and adhere to them no matter how tired you are, you must stay awake until your designated sleep time because one tiny nap can ruin sleep.

CBG – The Mother of All Cannabinoids. Why?

So you’ve heard me or another author write “CBG aka the mother of all Cannabinoids” and wonder what exactly that means because there, as you know, are many cannabinoids starting at THC and CBD and then the sub cannabinoids like CBC, CBN, etc.

What is CBG? CBG stands for cannabigerol. Found naturally in marijuana, it is the precursor molecule of both CBD and THC.

During growth of the cannabis plant, CBG is continuously converted to THC and CBD via specific enzymes in each plant activated by light, heat, moisture, humidity, pressure, nutrition, stress, etc and converted to literally every known cannabinoid.

During this cannabinoid life cycle, it’s concentration hovers around 1% which is about 20 times lower than the cannabinoid THC. The lower the concentration of CBG makes it harder for those to find the exact efficacy of CBG.

CBG-CBN-THC-CBC bio-synthesis 1= cannabigerol (CBG); 2 = cannabidiol (CBD); 3 = cannabichromene (CBC); 4 = delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol (THC).

Above is the life cycle of CBG and how natural enzyme reactions and effects of chlorophyll help CBG become CBD, CBC and THC.

Cannabinoids THC, CBD and others like CBG have been found to work much better together than in an isolated form (isolate versus broad or full spectrum for example). Synergistic effects and interrelationships are very important in medicine, however, mainstream pharmaceutical practice generally ignores this fundamental by offering a new medication that is more of an isolate with a broader reach of effects than a combination of 2 medications to fulfill your neurotransmitters and endocannabinoid system receptors CB1 and CB2 but this mostly has to do with fulfilling the entourage effect.

Specifically:
CBG does not trigger THC-like activity in rodents and primates, verifying that it is not an intoxicant, not psychoactive. In rodent models, CBG taken alone in high doses (80 mg/Kg – comparitively a rather high dose) did not promote locomotor suppression (depressed motor skills), catalepsy (extreme couch lock), hypothermia or analgesia (medicinal marijuana pain relief). So you can’t assign any psychoactive effects on cannabigerol in any dose to any motor or neurological system yet. Researchers need natural CBG in much higher concentrations in natural forms. But the one thing we know for sure is that both CB1 and CB2 are activated by CBG, not either/or, making adding CBG to any single isolate or broad spectrum to full spectrum product simply due to cross transmission in your endocannabinoid system’s receptors beneficial. Example: a high CBD isolate may effect CB1 while adding CBG to the mix would have an effect on CB2, doubling up on the effect of 2 Cannabinoids taken by two different angles affecting all ECS receptors is the definition of entourage effect.

I know that is all quite technical but if you read it twice or thrice and understand the body’s ECS it makes perfect sense.

CBG EFFICACY – SUMMARY OF RESEARCH FINDINGS

—-
Pain

CBG has shown potential for alleviating neuropathic, inflammatory and other pain in animal studies. CBG might even have a higher efficacy than CBD. CBG can modulate the uptake of GABA in the brain (most of you are familiar with gabapentin/neuronten for example), to decrease anxiety and reduce muscle tension. GABA’s principal role is to reduce neuronal excitability throughout the nervous system. GABA is also directly responsible for the regulation of muscle tone.

Anxiety

Lab tests showed that CBG is an antidepressant similar to imipramine. Imipramine, or Tofranil is a tricyclic pharmaceutical antidepressant. It is mainly used in the treatment of major depression and enuresis. Being a cannabinoid, CBG’s safety profile is extremely high, making it a candidate to replace pharmaceuticals with a multitude of toxic side effects.

CANNABIGEROL (CBG) - BETTER THAN CBD?

CANNABIGEROL (CBG) – BETTER THAN CBD?

Inflammation, digestive conditions

It has been shown to improve inflammatory bowel disease, ulcerative colitis and Crohn’s disease in lab findings. Obviously, this promising finding invites clinical study in humans.

Skin conditions

CBG boosts the body’s natural skin moisturizers, holding promise for dry-skin syndromes and promotes full hydration, which makes the face look much younger.

Neuroprotection

CBG has neuroprotective properties, with hypothetical efficacy in the treatment of neurodegenerative diseases from Huntington’s disease and multiple sclerosis (MS) to Alzheimer’s, ALS, Parkinson’s, dementia and others to make a few.

Cancer

CBG is showing promising properties in vitro for the potential treatment of a broad range of cancers, including breast, liver, lung, pancreatic, skin, ovarian, renal, bladder and colon cancer as well as malignancies that turn metastatic. It is thought to believe that CBG has anti-angiogenesis benefits (cuts off the blood supply to the cancers or tumors killing then from the inside out without toxic side effects of chemo or radiation. (See also Rick Simpson Oil aka RSO).

Glaucoma

Cannabigerol has been shown to relieve intraocular pressure, which is the cause of glaucoma.

CBG INTO THE FUTURE

—-

Cannabis alchemists round the world are seeking to produce high CBG strains, using selective breeding combined with genetic testing. It would seem that efforts would focus primarily on the shutting down the enzyme system that converts CBG into THC or CBD full stop. There may be environmental factors to manipulate the action of the focal enzymes (CBG to THC) such as nutrients, lighting, stress. Perhaps starving the plant of certain amino acids might work?

In any event, professionals from around the web are predicting we’ll see high CBG strains = 5%+ in the near future.

THE LEGAL STATUS OF CBG

—-

CBG itself a Scheduled substance in the US, Canada, Europe and the rest of “the free world”.

However, extracts of any component of the cannabis plant are illegal in many areas. Today, Cannabinoids THC and CBD from cannabis plant are Schedule I controlled substances, laughably in the same class as heroin, crack and other dangerous narcotics.

CBG and other cannabinoids are left alone for now, however, if its use goes viral, the reflex action of the DEA, based on precedent with the non-psychoactive CBD, is to label it Schedule I, despite having no psychoactive effects, low in toxicity, is a naturally occurring substance and it may be highly medicinal.

CBG coming soon? You won’t find many CBG marijuana strains currently on the market, but thanks to breeders like those at TGA genetics Subcool Seeds, the breed Mikey Kush exists. Mikey Kush strain is a Sativa-dominant strain testing with high levels of CBG and THC levels of 28.6%. CBG marijuana strains are becoming more available in Europe, and will most likely start to be seen on the shelves in North America soon. Research will surely continue, and as public interest increases, growers will be encouraged to produce high-CBG strains themselves.

The New Year To Come

Well this year has been topsy turvey. I’ve had so many bad days compared to good days that it makes me think the course of treatment I’m on is not ideal. Just treating the pain with narcotics is only a temporary stop gap towards what I’m heading to in the future.

While the procedures I get do offer long term relief from the extreme pain I used to suffer from, my flare periods have increased. This last year we tried epidurals for the first time to no avail and the right side ablation has worn off after working for about a year and 4 months. That’s not bad for a single procedure. My pain management center has now limited you to 6 steroid injection sessions per year due to how steroids eats away at the vertebrae but that doesn’t include the deep steroid procedures such as fact blocks which last for about 4-6 months.

The beginning of this new year I’m going for a consultation on an implantable spinal stimulator which uses electrical impulses to interfere with that areas ability to send pain signals to the brain. It works all over the back but they have started to use it on the cervical spine in the last few years successfully for people with cervical spondylosis and degenerative disc disease. It’s a small implantable unit they bury into your shoulder and then run lead wired into the nerve root locations at each location of the cervical spine. The first procedure is a temporary unit which you have access to so you can tune the strength, width and frequency to what works for you the best. Once you find that butter zone, they use those settings on the permanent device but those settings can be changed easily as well. So I look forward to that and finally be rid of the fentanyl patch.

Last Friday, to break a 2 month flare, I had 12 steroid injections as part of an occipital nerve block to relax the top of the cervical spine so the rest of it can begin to relax and started an anti spasmodic medication while tapering off of the gabapentin since that drug does nothing for me.

The inflammation of the neck is putting undo pressure on my vagus nerve slowing down my heart rate. At night it drops as low as 41bpm at it’s absolute lowest so I was given Wellbutrin to stimulate my system and medically increase my heart rate. I ended the year in and out of my cardiologist’s office for an echo an EKG and a 2 week halter monitor which confirmed the bradycardia but showed no cardiac problems.

I have to go in for another sleep study as the neck may have created an apnea-like symptom when I sleep which also explains the slow heart rate at night. Mind you the slow rate is only when I sleep so in essence I end up taking a stimulating drug right before I get ready for sleep. Real smart for someone like me who already has a sleep disorder. I’m not worried at all about any of this, I’m just waiting for my chiropractor to return from his vacation so I can get some alignment back in the middle to lower neck and squash this long flare.

Besides all that, I’ve switched partnerships from one CBD company to another. We are no longer partnered with green roads world as their product is stepped on and have carefully chosen The CBDDISTILLERY who is the grower and seller whose lab reports are so pure and contain more terpenes and cannabinoids compared to so many other names in the market. I started using their product a few months ago before starting to sell them to make sure it was worth it and trust me, it’s worth it. I will be changing all the CBD ads on the site to them tomorrow and wipe my hands of green roads.

In other news, I got a Microsoft surface book 2 with a 15″ screen and the highest model you could get as a present and Photoshop CC loads in 5 seconds which is remarkable. I can’t wait to start editing on it in my lap like I used to do with my surface pro 4.

Onyx is doing great and her Spidey senses the last 2 months have been spot on as she’s been sleeping by my head every night during this long flare. Her purring is like a massage pillow it’s so powerful.

My New year’s resolutions are to be more accepting of ignorant people as in ignoring them rather then arguing logic into their heads. I promise to get out more and with a new girlfriend that hasn’t been an issue for a while now. Judge less and accept more.

I wish everyone a happy New year and hope it brings positivity and strength to you all. Don’t harp on the negative instead look to the next day as being better than the previous.

Namaste.

Vaping CBD versus Swallowing Oil

I recently started to vape CBD with a “Smok” vaporizer and Aspire Cleito EXO atomizer. The results have been astounding.

Totally different effects and feelings. For the insomniacs, this will put you to sleep if you vape a little more than usual. It requires less MGs than in oil form to get the desired effect.

My blood pressure, heart rate and overall sense of well being are all either lower or better in terms of self being. You feel no anxiety at all. I’m vaping 250mg, as many droppers that can fill up my atomizer as I don’t use the atomizer for anything else. I take about 10 hits off of the vaporizer vests droplets under my tongue at 1500mg and have a quicker better reaction to it..

You can spend a lot less on oil you vape versus oil you drop. 40 dollars versus 150+ per bottles. My distributers gave me 2 bottles to test to make sure it’s good enough for my audience.

My heart rate per day has been an average of 61bpm steady since starting this. I’m back to 120/70 for my blood pressure and it’s effects on my cervical spondylosis has been intense. I have no pain at all and I have been putting stress in it with my weight lifting so I expected an increase in pain. Not since vaping CBD!

CBD is the answer and CBD will set you free from life’s barriers like introversion, anxiety and stress. Everything just rolls off of you so for sensitive people like empaths it’s perfect.
