Remeron – Day 2

As I stated in the last post about Remeron yesterday, you shouldn’t give it a good full review until at least 7 days but I’ll give you the first 3 days and then 7 days.

Wow again.  If I wasn’t off these 2 days I don’t know what I’d do.

DO NOT OPERATE HEAVY MACHINERY – I can’t even operate the tea kettle this morning and my nasal passages are as dry as death valley.  I must be snoring or breathing with my mouth open suddenly.  But, I slept.

I went into bed at 11pm and was out before 11:30 as I don’t remember the 3rd song on my Binaural Beats playlist.

This morning I woke up at 10 not wanting to wake up.  That’s good and bad for next week when I restart work on Monday.  Tomorrow I’ll setup an alarm for 8am and then Sunday for 7am in the hopes I can test how I’ll feel.

I had no need for anything else last night which includes the generic Unisom, I just passed out.  I woke up around 4am to go pee which is usually when I would wake up and then remain up.  Well, I didn’t.  I was asleep immediately afterwards like nothing happened.

I’m surprised that NY Presbyterian put me on all of these sedatives without trying the non addictive tricyclics first as its working better for me than any of those Benzos they tried on me.

As someone with major insomnia with associated painsomnia I highly suggest Remeron for sleep so far after 2 days but we’ll see about 7 days when it comes.

Remeron – Night 1

I know, I know.  I’m supposed to give more than 1 day to get the full effects of some new crazy medication.  I will do a writeup in 7 days as my doctor told me to try it until things are changed – such as an increase in dosage.

Remeron.  Sounds like a planet of Pluto or Saturn. Or perhaps a language spoken by the Ferengi on Star Trek or the planet they are from.  Either way, it is also a medication.  A tricyclic antidepressant used primarily for sleep disorders.

After my enormous post about my 15 plus year insomnia disorder, we start fresh with this new medication.

If I wasn’t off today I don’t know how I would have managed to stay awake the entire day.  Not only was I out until 11am (fell asleep at 11pm) but as I was doing errands, driving was ridiculously umm, ridiculous.  They do mean it on certain medications when they tell you to not operate heavy machinery until you know how you will react to it… But I was not expecting it to last until around 5pm today.

So did I sleep or what?  I put myself in at 10pm and took it at 9:30pm as the pharmacist told me.  I started to give up on it around 11:30 when I was still awake but then turned off Plex on the TV and connected it to my chromecast-capable Sony Google Assistant speaker.  I put on my Binaural Beats playlist and I only remembered 1 song I actually heard before passing out until 11am.

The fact that I slept until 11 was weird because usually I’m up really early because the cat gets fed real early during work days.  So the fact that she didn’t wake me up meant to me that the medication worked WELL into the late morning ignoring outside influences.

So a conclusion after 1 day? Let’s have more nights like that!
